Introducing International Student Travel Insurance
To support your time studying in the UK with Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» international, it is essential that you have appropriate insurance in place for the duration of your studies.
International Student Insurance has been designed by education insurance specialist, Howden, who has over 60 years’ experience providing insurance for students.
Do I need Insurance?
You are not required to purchase International Student Travel Insurance. You may choose to arrange your own insurance instead. However, if you decide to purchase International Student Travel Insurance, the insurance premium can be added to your course fees once you have reviewed the information provided.
If you decide to arrange your own suitable insurance, you will need to provide evidence of this as part of the application process.
What insurance do I need?
Your insurance cover must meet the following requirements:
- It must cover the entire period of your studies in the UK, including travel to the UK at the start of your course and travel back to your home country at the end.
- It must include medical emergency cover, including emergency treatment and repatriation to your home country, with a minimum limit of £2 million.
- It must cover all financial costs, including tuition or course fees, if you are unable to start your course or need to leave your course early because of illness or injury affecting you or a close family member.

- Statement of Insurance – confirmation of your insurance cover
- For bookings made between 03/02/2026 until 02/02/2027
- Policy Wording– the full terms and conditions of the insurance
Please note that insurance cover will not start until you have selected the insurance during the application process, and paid any required fees.
